Thomas Stead
Thomas Stead was a self taught etcher working in the 1930’s-50. By all
accounts as well as being a competent etcher he turned his etching skills to forging five pound notes in the days when they were black and white. After his extended stay in Norwich prison He concentrated his love of etching into a more respectable way of earning a living. He lived on an old wooden boat moored near the old Thorpe Station, where he had his press. He died somewhere around the late 1950s to early 1960s
